As we draw closer to Christmas, the temperatures are plummeting and the rate of homelessness or more specifically, child homelessness is rising. With 120,000 young people in England & Wales living in temporary accommodation, the situation is critical and I’d like to know what I can do to help.

My first step is to offer a hot drink or meal, then I would alert the relevant authorities. I have found Streetlink to be extremely helpful as they help members of the public to alert local authorities in England and Wales. Follow the website http://www.streetlink.org.uk/ for more information. You can also download the app for your Apple or Android phone.

    Apple: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/streetlink/id587543230?mt=8
    Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=co.uk.precedent.streetlink&hl=en_GB

I’d appreciate any further advice or information.
